More Than Just Science: Character Education in Human Biology
As a human biology teacher, my goal is not just to impart scientific knowledge about the human body. I also aim to foster a deeper understanding of what it means to be human, both in terms of biology and ethics. This involves weaving in what might be called a βhidden curriculumβ β lessons that go beyond the textbook and teach students important life skills and values.

What's coming to Book Club in February?
By Dr. Robin Dickinson, MD
WWII provided a wealth of opportunities for great children's literature ranging from The Chronicles of Narnia to this monthβs Book Club selection, The War I Finally Won.
People had different experiences during the war depending on where they were. My mom's mother taught kindergarten in California and played the piano while her students sang patriotic songs. Parents, you may be wondering....
Why incorporate a book club into a science curriculum?

Anatomy Coloring Book Club
The Building Blocks of Life
By Arabella Kling, Age 12
Last Saturday, Nurse Jill taught about the cell. You can see which pages students colored by looking at this weekβs Student Spotlight. The students colored their coloring sheets and learned about the building block of life- the cell. The class colored vesicles, ribosomes, mitochondria, and all the other organelles that make up our cells.
Looking for a weekend class? Nurse Jillβs Anatomy Coloring Book Club is great for students who attend school during the week, as well as busy home-schooled students. You can put your students in this class to learn about the human body through coloring! Join before you miss anything cool, and donβt forget your colored pencils!
